When I bought my first robot vacuum, there weren’t as many choices as today. And indeed, fewer brands. So when my laziness got to the next level (as I got more important things to care for than house chores), it was time to upgrade my robot vacuum. I jumped from forum to forum, group to group, and even prepared a poll to ask more than 100 people’s opinions about their favorite robot vacuum brands. So what are the best robot vacuum brands?
As of 2023, the most famous and trusted robot vacuum brand is Roborock with the current leading products being the S7 and S7 MaxV. The second slot belongs to iRobot with the current leading products being the j7+ and s9+. Other brands like Dreame, Wyze, Eufy, etc. are less popular with fewer features in general. And surprisingly, Neato is no longer trusted or recommended.
What Are the Leading Products from the Best Robot Vacuum Brands in 2024?
When it comes to choosing the best robot vacuum in 2024, several leading brands offer remarkable options. These brands bring cutting-edge technology and innovative features to revolutionize your cleaning routine. From advanced suction power to intelligent navigation systems, the leading products from these brands promise to deliver exceptional performance and convenience. Keeping your floors clean has never been easier.
What Do 100 People Recommend?
I set up a poll on Facebook to ask more than 100 people with hands-on experience with robot vacuums to vote for their favorite robot vacuum brands. And here’s the result.
Nearly half of the people voted for Roborock due to its effectiveness and durability, while a big chunk of people recommended Roomba due to its advanced features and smart technology.
But don’t just look at the brand name to tell the differences between robot vacuums, there are more. I’ve written an article on that, from types, prices, and features. Make sure you take a good look to decide the right one for you.
Roborock
Roborock had rocked the world with its Xiami robot vacuums. It quickly became the bestselling robotic cleaner in China in 2016. Since then, Roborock kept on releasing more advanced and innovative robot vacuums.
What people love about Roborock is that they focus on the core value: robot vacuums are supposed to vacuum. The rest are added features. Therefore, from the basic to the most advanced robot vacuums, the Roborock vacuums are outstanding in their cleaning ability.
The current Roborock robot vacuums are all round-shaped, using a LiDAR navigation system that can work well in the dark. They often have very strong power suction, from 2,000pa to more than 5,000pa. They are extremely strong and durable.
My first robot vacuum is still working fine as of today (around 7 years mark), even though it is the very first model of Roborock (Mi Home) and many times has to carry my son on it (I know it is not recommended) and goes through my son’s experiment with sticks, kicking, pushing and pulling.
The current leading Roborock is the S7, and recently the S7 MaxV with many advanced features like ultrasonic mopping, mop lifting, self-emptying, self-cleaning, and self-refilling, etc. priced at around $1,000 – $1,300.
iRobot
Founded around 30 years ago to design and build innovative home robots, iRobot has transformed the robot vacuum market with their creativity and now they are nearly leading the latest trend and technology in robot vacuums. The most famous product line is their Roomba robot vacuum, with plenty of models and advanced features to fit consumers’ needs.
Roomba robot vacuums come in many models, from a round shape to D-shape. Depending on the model, they also have PrecisionVision technology to avoid obstacles, mopping, self-emptying, and dirt detect features and are able to use voice commands through Alexa or Google Assistant.
The most basic Roomba without added features is nearly $300. With each added feature with an estimated price ranging from $50 to $250, the most advanced Roomba is Roomba Combo™ j7+ Robot Vacuum and Mop, priced at around $1,000 – $1,100.
Other Robot Vacuum Brands
Other robot vacuum brands like Eufy, Ecovacs, Wyze, etc. take a smaller market share. But it doesn’t mean they are not good or don’t have advanced features. They also do a good job of vacuuming. They can also mop, self-empty, self-clean, and have an advanced navigation system.
However, with a smaller budget in general, you can expect they need to pack lighter features with a less pricey tag.
Brand Name Matters, But It Isn’t Everything
When it comes to selecting the right robot vacuum for you. It all depends on your need, your purpose of use, the size of your home, how messy or dirty your floor can get, and your budget.
